RECHTENSTEIN
State : Baden-Württemberg ![]()
Origin/meaning: Already in the 1930s the village had adopted on its seal a coat of arms showing a black cross with the escutcheon. The black cross was the symbol of the Teutonic Knights. As the village had not been a possession of the Order (the arms were most likely derived from the personal arms of a member of the family, who was also a Teutonic Knight), it was later changed into a red cross. Literature : Bardua, 1987
