Wappen von Ohrdruf

Origin/meaning:
The arms show the local patron saint, St. Michael. Already in 725 St. Bonifatius founded a St. Michael chapel in the area, around which the city developed. Ever since seals are known for the city (16th century) the saint has been on the seals and arms.
