NEIDENSTEIN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Neckar Kreis
Origin/meaning :
The arms were adopted in 1901.
The oldest seal of the village dates from the 18th century, but it is no longer known what it actually showed. In the 19th century the local council used a seal with only the letter N. In 1901 the state archives proposed the above arms, which are derived from the arms of the Lords of Venningen (see below), Lords of Neidenstein from the 14th century. To distinguish the arms an additional sceptre was added.
