Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry LÜTAU State : Schleswig-Holstein District (Kreis) : Herzogtum Lauenburg Amt : Lütau Origin/meaning: The arms were officially granted on February 1, 1980. The arms show the very typical church tower of Lütau, which thus can be used as a unique item for Lütau. It is also the oldest building in the village and thus symbolises the long history of Lütau. The axe in the upper left corner is a symbol for the settlement and development of the village. Lütau was settled by clearing the forests, the axe is a typical symbol for this.
