Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry LICHTE State : Thüringen District (Kreis) : Saalfeld-Rudolstadt Verwaltungsgemeinschaft: Lichtetal am Rennsteig Additions : Wallendorf, Bock und Teich, Geiersthal Origin/meaning: The arms were granted on July 15, 1995. The flame symbolises the light (Licht) and thus is a canting symbol. The candlestick is from porcelain and symbolises the traditional porcelain industry in the area. The four leaves are aspen leaves, symbolising the four villages in the municipality, Bock und Teich, Geiersthal, Lichte and Wallendorf. Finally the base of the shield indicates that Lichte is situated in a valley. Seal of Leipnitz from around 1900 Literature : Ulle, 1997.
