Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry KÜPS State : Bayern District (Kreis) : Kronach Additions : 1971 Tüschnitz; 1972 Hain; 1976 Au; 1977 Burkersdorf; 1978 Johannisthal, Oberlangenstadt, Schmölz, Theisenort Origin/meaning: The arms were granted on April 30, 1951. The arms show in the right half the arms of the Lords of Redwitz, who ruled the village for several centuries. The lords built at least 5 castles and the church in the municipality. The left half of the arms shows the local Eisturm tower, built in 1546. Literature : Stadler, K. : Deutsche Wappen - Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Angelsachsen Verlag, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
