State : Rheinland-Pfalz ![]() Origin/meaning: The arms show the imperial eagle, with the chequered shield of the Counts of Sponheim. Kröv was a large and important Imperial estate from the 9th century until 1274. In 1274 it was given as a loan to the Counts of Sponheim.
In the early 20th century the arms below were shown in the Kaffee Hag albums. These arms show the same composition, but in slightly different colours.
