Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1964.
The arms show a medieval army tent, which is used as a symbol for the yearly court which took place in the municipality in medieval times. During a session there were many tents of soldiers and knights in the valley. The cross symbolises the relation between the village and the cathedral chapter (Domkapittel) of Augsburg, which played a major role in the local history. The cross was used by the medieval bishop Udalrich of Augsburg. The wavy bar symbolises the Lech river, whereas the wheel symbolises the modern industrial character of the town.
