District (Kreis) : Freudenstadt (until 1973 Horb) ![]() Origin/meaning: The oldest seal of the city dates from the 13th century and shows the arms of the Counts of Tübingen (see Tübingen). From 1308 onwards the divided shield of silver and red appears on the seals. This shield shows the arms of the Counts of Hohenberg. Ever since the city has used these arms.
