Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry HÖHEINÖD State : Rheinland-Pfalz District (Kreis) : Pirmasens Verbandsgemeinde : Waldfischbach-Burgalben Origin/meaning: The arms were granted on February 12, 1962. The village belonged during the times of the Holy Roman Empire to four families/rulers (simultaneously and subsequently) that are represented in the arms as follows. The silver eagle represents the County and later Principality of Leiningen; the red lion represents the duchy of Zweibrücken; the 3 red chevrons represent the County of Hanau-Lichtenberg; and the five silver balls on black the Lords of Sickingen.
