Origin/meaning: Heinrichsthal developed in the early 17th century as a village of glass workers. The axe in the arms symbolises the clearing of the forest for the new settlement. The other tool is an iron tool used in glass making, in German a "Kröseleisen". The letters HF stand for Heinrich Fleckenstein, a famous glass blowe rof the region, it has been speculated that the name Heinrichsthal is derived from his name.
