GÜGLINGEN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Heilbronn
Additions : 1970s Eibensbach, Frauenzimmern
 Origin/meaning:
Güglingen became a city in the late 13th century as a possession of the Lords of Neuffen. The oldest seal, dating from 1359, as well as all later seals and images, show the hood. The hood is a canting symbol, derived from the Latin cucullus and German Gugel. Even though the composition has not changed, the colours have changed regularly during the centuries. The present colours are officially used since 1575, but in the 1930s the shied was often shown as blue.
