State : Niedersachsen 
Origin/meaning: The black lion in the upper part of the arms is taken from the arms of Edo Boing, a local chief and first Lord of Gödens in the 14th century. In the 16th century the estate became a possession of the Von Frytag family, who used three silver rings in silver. In 1746 Lord Erhard von Wedel acquired the estate by marriage, and his family arms showed a black wheel. The arms thus combine elements of the families that ruled the estate and lived at the local castle. The castle itself is symbolised by the division line. Literature : Furchert, 2003
