 Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1967 and combines elements from the arms of the former arms of Garbsen as well as of the municipality of Havelse.
The chimney is derived from the older arms of Garbsen and is a symbol for the chalk industry in the municipality. The hawk (Habicht) is a canting element for Havelse (which means hawk's wood, Habichtswald). The wall anchor is a symbol to show the unification of the two municipalities.
