FÜRSTENFELDBRUCK

District (Kreis) : Fürstenfeldbruck
 Origin/meaning:
The village of Bruck (from bridge) received town rights in 1306 and became a possession of the Fürstenfeld Abbey in 1342. The name hence became Fürstenfeldbruck.
The first arms were granted on July 13, 1813 by King Max I Joseph of Bayern. The arms showed a bridge with three crosses above the bridge, see image below. The above arms were granted in 1936 and are based on an image by Mielich and Apian in a roll of arms from 1565. The bridge is a canting element, the cross probably indicates the Abbey and the chief shows the arms of Bayern.
