Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry FLÖHA State : Sachsen District (Kreis) : Freiberg (until 1994 Flöha) Additions : 1920 Gückelsberg; 1962 Plaue Origin/meaning: The arms were officially granted on January 22, 1997. The arms symbolise the two rivers Flöha and Zschopau that run through and join in the city. The arms were probably adopted in the 1950s and based on the old seal of the village. The present arms, with a blue field instead of a black field, were adopted in 1997. Seal of the city from around 1900 The arms as shown in the 1920s. Literature : Bensing et al., 1984
