FALLINGBOSTEL
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Soltau-Fallingbostel (until 1981 Fallingbostel)
 Origin/meaning:
Fallingbostel became a city in 1949 and at the same time the arms were granted. The colour red symbolises the heather, as the city is situated on the Lüneburger Heide, a large country full of heather. The beehive symbolises the longtime tradition to keep bees on the heather. The upper part shows a typical decoration of the farm roofs in Niedersachsen (see also Fischerhude and Buchholz). The wave in the base of the shield shows the Böhme river that runs through the city.
Literature : Stadler, K. : Deutsche Wappen - Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Angelsachsen Verlag, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
