State : Rheinland-Pfalz
Origin/meaning: The arms are a combination of the checquered field of the arms of the Counts of Sponheim, to which the area historically belonged, and in the base three wheat ears and a hammer. The wheat ears symbolise the agricultural character of the municipality, whereas the hammer symbolises the presense of iron in the soil. Literature : Heyen und Zimmer, 1966 |
