Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry DROLSHAGEN State : Nordrhein-Westfalen District (Kreis) : Olpe Amt : Drolshagen (until 1969) Additions : 1969 Drolshagen-Land Origin/meaning: The old (left) arms were granted on January 28, 1911. The new arms on January 7, 1972. The anchor and arrow are the symbols of St. Clement, patron saint of the city. The church seals showed the saint with the cross and arrow, the seals of the city showed only the symbols. The black and silver are the colours of the State of Köln, to which the city historically belonged. The seal of Drolshagen from 1481. The new arms are identical to the arms of the former Amt Drolshagen and combine elements from the arms of Drolshagen city and Drolshagen-Land. Hupp showed the arms in the 1920s in slightly different colours: Literature : Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes; Hupp, O: Kaffee Hag albums, 1920s; Belke et al., 1986
