Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen)
German Civic Heraldry

BUDENHEIM

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Mainz-Bingen (until 1969 Mainz)

Origin/meaning:
The arms are based on the 16th century seal of the village, and show the patron saint, St. Pancratius. As no historical colours were known, it was decided to use the colours of the State of Mainz to which the village historically belonged. The arms have been in use since the early 20th century.

In 1956 it was proposed to use only the banner of St. Pancratius as arms instead of the whole composition.
