Origin/meaning: The arms of Brebach reminds of the Halbergerhütte iron facory in the village. The factory was founded in 1756 by Prince Wilhelm Heinrich von Nassau-Saarbrücken and improved by the Lords of Stumm-Halberg. The colours and the billets are taken from the arms of Nassau, the hammer and iron-bucket represent the iron works. Literature : Lehne and Kohler, 1981
