Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry BRACKWEDE State : Nordrhein-Westfalen District (Kreis) : Bielefeld Amt : Brackwede Additions : 1970 Quelle Incorporated into : 1975 Bielefeld Origin/meaning: The arms were officially granted on ??-??-1950. The lower half of the arms symbolises the hills of the Teutoburger Wald (forest), that borders the city. The wheel in the base of the shield symbolises craftsmanship and industry.
