BAD SULZA
State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Weimarer Land
Additions : 1907
Dorfsulza, Stadtsulza; 1923
Bergsulza, Oberneusulza
Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1907 and are a combination of elements from the old seals of Stadtsulza and Dorfsulza. The patron saint of Stadtsulza is the Saint Mauritius, which can be seen in the right part of the arms. The oldest known seal of Stadtsulza, dating from 1567, already shows the patron saint. The linden tree has been used in the village of Dorfsulza since the early 19th century.
Seal of the city from around 1900
