 Origin/meaning:
The arms were devised in 1930 and formally adopted in the present composition in 1950. The town is a spa, based on sulphur springs. This is symbolised by the fountain and the columns. The chief shows the arms of the Princes of Schaumburg-Lippe, to which the area historically belonged, to which the area historically belonged. The trees are a symbol for the forests in the area. The original arms did not show the rose of Lippe in the arms of Schaumburg-Lippe. Similarly, the trees were added in 1950.
