Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry AMT PELKUM State : Nordrhein-Westfalen District (Kreis) : Unna Incorporated into : 1966 Bergkamen, 1968 Bönen, Herringen (1974 Hamm) Origin/meaning: The arms were never officially granted. The arms combine the arms of the Counts of the Mark (checquered bar) with a chain derived from the arms of the former Lords of Boenen, who ruled large part of the area in medieval times. The arms are now used of the Bezirk Pelkum of the city of Hamm. Literature :
