Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) German Civic Heraldry AMT ALDEKERK State : Nordrhein-Westfalen District (Kreis) : Kleve (until 1969 Geldern) Incorporated into : 1969 Kerken Origin/meaning: The arms were officially granted on January 23, 1957. The crossed sword and key are the symbols of the local patron saints of Aldekerk, St. Paul and St. Peter. The hook in the upper half is the symbol of St. Thomas, patron siant of Stenden.
