The arms show three herring, as herring fishing was the main occupation at the time. To distinguish the arms from other arms with three fish, (Rønne, Rudkøbing, Åbenrå) the middle fish was turned. The arms as shown in the Kaffe Hag album from the 1930s. The arms as shown on a cigarette card from 1926 Literature : Achen, 1982
