Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1936.

The two points refer to the chalk cliffs at Stevns Klint and Møns Klint in the county. The tower is taken from the seal of the historical Vordingborg Amt, which became part of the county in 1750.

The following herreds were part of Præstø Amt :

  1. Bjæverskov
  2. Bårse
  3. Fakse
  4. Hammer
  5. Mønbo
  6. Stevns
  7. Tybjerg
