KOPRIVNICA AND KRIZEVCI

Origin/meaning:
The triple cross is from the coat of arms of Krizevci and the double fleur-de-lis from the coat of arms of Koprivnica. The peacock is a symbol for the area as for a long time its feathers were used by the inhabitants, and is also found in legends and the coat of arms of Djurdjevac.

The first adopted coat of arms was slightly different from the one currently used. This coat of arms and the accompanying flag were used by the County without the approval of the Ministry of Administration. When the Ministry approved the design without the red bars, the legal documents were changed accordingly, as well as the usage.
