DUBROVNIK-NERETVA COUNTY

Origin/meaning:
The arms include the ancient arms of Dubrovnik dating from the 11^th century. Four white bars now represent three rivers of Dubrovnik region and Neretva river. Neretvan valley is represented with a 'trupica', traditional vessel used by population of Neretvan delta. The arms of the island of Korcula in the third quarter represent the city towers of Korcula, their firmness and strength.
