BEDEKOVCINA
![]()
Origin/meaning:
![]() poroposal for 1995 In white shield four wavy bars, two upper red and two lower blue. The red bars represent the roof tiles, i.e. the pottery industry, while the two lower bars and number of waves represent the sever Bedekovcina lakes, artificially made by digging the earth for the tiles. The shield shape is the same as the shield used on the coat of arms of the city Zabok, of which Bedekovcina was part until 1993. The flag is golden representing richness of the area bordered with Croatian tricolour - traditional ornament of region. This proposal, in several variants based on the same idea, was adopted by the Community council of the community of Bedekovcina on 24th November 1995, as the second awarded on the competition held for the coat of arms and the flag. The first awarded proposal was latter on adopted for the coat of arms and the flag, shown above. Literature : Image taken from http://zeljko-heimer-fame.from.hr/descr/index.html (with permission) |
