Origin/meaning :
The first quarter shows a sun, symbol of the local people in the Sugamuxi valley, who referred the sun as one of their gods. There are still ruins of solar temples in the area, destroyed when the Spanish qunquered the area. The second quarter shows a Phrygian hat, symbol of liberation and peace. The third quarter shows a bull's head, symbol of agriculture. The fourth quarter shows some pales of steel, symbolising mining and steel manufacturing in the area.
