Origin/meaning : The crest consists of maple leaves and dogwoods symbolizing national and provincial ties and is a pun on one of West Vancouver's most historic names Hollyburn. The silver cougars with their collars of fir and golden cones represent the varied flora and fauna found throughout West Vancouver. They stand on a compartment which represents the municipality's rocky shoreline with mountain streams flowing down to meet the waters of the inlet.
