SAINT LAMBERT
Province : Quebec
![]()
Origin/meaning :
In the top part of the coat-of-arms, the fleur-de-lis on the left represents the French-speaking population; the rose on the right symbolises the English-speaking population. In the centre, the hunting horn recalls Lambert Closse, the 17th-century hero of the French pioneers who, it is said, hunted the marshlands known as Mouille-pied, which are now Saint-Lambert. The ship, the centre point on the coat-of-arms, symbolises the geographical position of Saint-Lambert on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River. The motto "Maximus in minimis" means to seek greatness even in the smallest details. Literature: Information received by mail. |
