GUAPIAÇU

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on September 10, 1976.
The three small wavy bars in the lower half indicate the numerous rivers which flow near the city. The name Guapiaçu means 'clear water' in the local Indian language. The arrows are the symbol of St. Sebastian, patron saint of the city.
The shield is flanked by coffee and oranges, the main crops in the region.
