Origin/meaning : The shield is surrounded by flowers of the well known Hibiscus tree, a typical tree in the area, which is seen along the streets and avenues of the city. The crest shows the crown of Dom Pedro, on a pedestal where, from three taps, copious and foamy water gushes spout, symbolising the variety and quantity of our mineral waters.
