SARAJEVO CANTON
Origin/meaning:
Previously the canton used the arms below.
The nine triangles symbolise again the nine communities in the canton, and are adapted from similar roof representations in the coat of arms of the city of Sarajevo. The bridge is taken from the Sarajevo coat of arms also, and the symbol at the base is the sign of Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olypmic Games (minus Olympic rings), representing a snow-flake.
