Civic Heraldry of Bosnia and Herzegovina ČITLUK State : Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Canton : Herzegovina-Neretva Origin/meaning: The arms were officially adopted on ?? The arms show the cross on a mountain near Međugorje, a well-known place of pilgrimage that is situated in the south of the community. The madder plant (Rubia trinctorum) called in Croatian broć is canting for the ancient name of Čitluk, Brotnjo, that is today preserved as the name of the plateau on which the community is situated.
