PECQ
Province : Hainaut
Additions : 1976 Esquelmes, Hérinnes, Obigies, Warcoing
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on January 7, 1952.
The arms are those of the Princes of Salm-Kyrbourg, the last Lords of the Manor of Pecq, from 1765-1794. The quarters represent Wildgraven (I and IV), Rheingrafen (II and III), Kyrbourg (three lions), Salm (fish) andVinstingen (bar).
In 1885 the municipality adopted arms showing only a silver fish in blue, probably derived from the Salm arms, but these arms were never officially granted.
