Origin/meaning :

The arms are a combination of the bars of the County Loon, to which a large part of the municipality historically belonged. The eagle is derived from the arms of the principality of the Thorn Convent, now in the Netherlands, which owned most of the Molenbeersel estate. As the Thorn Convent was a free imperial principality, the imperial eagle was used as its symbol.
The supporter is St. Lambartus, patron saint of the oldest church in the municipality and derived from the arms of the former municipality of Ophoven.
