KAPELLE OP DEN BOS
Province : Vlaams-Brabant
![]()
Origin/meaning : The arms were granted on October 30, 1946. The complete arms show St. Nicolas as supporter behind the shield. The arms show the lion of Brabant and the patron saint. The composition was first used on a seal knwon from the 14th century. In 1292 the Dukes of Brabant established the Estate of Kapelle and in the 14th century a local council was mentioned. Several families have held the estate, but the seals and arms always showed the lion of Brabant. Literature : Servais, 1955 |
