Origin/meaning :

The new arms were granted after the merger with the other municipalities. The first quarter shows the old arms of Holsbeek, the third the old arms of Nieuwrode. The second and fourth quarter represent Kortrijk-Dutsel (St. Martin, the patron saint of the village) and Sint Pieters Rode (St. Peter, the patron saint of the village).

The previous arms were granted on November 22, 1924.
The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the village of Holsbeek, dating from 1351. The seal already showed St. Mary flanked by two crosses. St. Mary is the patron saint of the village. No other seals or images for the village are known.
