Province : Antwerpen

Origin/meaning :
The old arms were granted on October 6, 1819 and confirmed on December 7, 1844.
The new arms were granted on May 30, 1995.

The old arms show St. Peter, the patron saint of the town. The arms were based on the old seal of the local council and, as no colours were specified, granted in the Dutch national colours. After the Belgian independence, the arms were confirmed, but the colours were not changed.
I have no information on the present arms.
