HEMELVEERDEGEM
Province : Oost Vlaanderen
![]()
Origin/meaning : The arms show a beehive and a lion, probably allegoric symbols for the labour and the watchfulness of the population. The arms had no historical significance. The only known seal of the village dates from the late 18th century and shows the arms of the Boelare family, who ruled the village and estate since the 17th century. Literature : Servais, 1955 |
