Province : Oost Vlaanderen
Origin/meaning : The arms show a silver castle in black, symbolising the Oudburg in Gent. The estate of 's Graven Hazele, to which the village of Deurle belonged was part of the Oudburg possessions. The cross is taken from the arms of the De Causemaecker family and represents the fact that 's Graven Hazele was a possession of this family from 1775-1785. The supporter is St. Aldegonde, the local patron saint. Literature : Servais, 1968 |
