CHINY
Province : Luxembourg
Additions : 1976 Izel, Jamoigne, Les Bulles, Suxy, Termes
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on December 26, 1838. When the city applied for its arms it was mentioned that they had been in use for many centuries. Unfortunately there are no historical seals or images of the arms. The arms are most likely derived from the arms of the medieval Counts de Chiny, who used three trout in their arms. The crown probably symbolises the counts themselves.
