BOUSSU
Province : Hainaut
![]()
Origin/meaning : The arms were granted on May 19, 1913 and are officially crowned with a crown with 12 pearls. The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the village, known since 1574. The seal showed a shield with a bend. The shield is the coat of arms from the Hennin-Liétard family. The family acquired the estate of Boussu around 1200 and the family remained in possession of Boussu until 1804. Literature : Servais, 1955 |
