BEGIJNENDIJK
Province : Vlaams-Brabant
Origin/meaning : The arms are a combination of the previous arms of Begijnendijk and the arms of Betekom. The black fleur-de-lys is taken from the arms of Betekem, but the supporter of Betekom was replaced bt St. Lucia, the patron saint of Begijnendijk. The previous arms of Begijnendijk showed only the image of St. Lucia. These arms were granted on April 7, 1819 and confirmed on October 19, 1840.
