Origin/meaning:

The main items in these 'arms (it is more a logo) ahow a farmer, a maize cob and a hoe, all indicating the agrocultural character of the region. The axe and factory refer to the copper mining in the town. The upper part show the fish eagle, the national bird of Zambia.
