Arms: Quarterly, Argent and Brunatre, over all a pale reguly of eight
counterchanged, the projections opposite each other.
The arms prepared for the Damara Legislative Council were not taken into official use because of opposition from certain members of the Legislative Council and the on-going constitutional changes taking place in South West Africa whereby the Homeland structures were abolished by the Administrator-General in 1980 and new second-tier administrations were created.
Origin/meaning : The homelands, and thus the arms, were abolished in 1990 at the independence of Namibia. Literature : Brownell part V
